Entry #09 – David Berman – Ride50at50 – [RnT Story Contest – 1st Edition]
The 3 guys, Adrian, Andrew, and David have known each other since school and have travelled the world together. Quite a lot of that being on or around motorcycles.
For their 50th birthday year, something epic was in order. Route 66 seemed a little predictable so they looked for something a little different.
Riding the old Pony express trail, now Route50 from Washington DC in the East to San Francisco in the West, there was sure to be plenty of laughs, considerable mucking about, and probably some bitching and moaning. Along the way, they saw some cool shit and met some interesting people and oh yes, there was the bikes, some drama, and a whole lot of booze. What could possibly go wrong?
Looks like a fantastic ride. Well done gents
What a fantastic video. You brought the whole journey to life with the combination of journey footage, interviews and commentary. Really nicely done. I desperately want to do something similar myself now and it’s only 4 years till I’m 50…
Thank you Danny. It was a fantastic experience and one I highly recommend.
Give it 4 years and I just might give it a go…
The journey of a lifetime, and who better to ride with than three life long friends. Epic!
And, we got to meet thought provoking and inspiring people, like you, who made us realise that people from far away places are the same as us. We also met some people who were really quite weird. (Like you! Haha) thanks Jeff, I hope we get to ride together again someday.
Here’s to more midlife crises! Great film, inspiring. I reckon I could enjoy a crisis like this on a regular basis!
I’d also like to say that there is no time like the present to start a mid life or any other type of crisis if it involves getting out and about on adventures! It’s a big world and I think it’s important to see more than just your own backyard and meet more than just your neighbours. Great as that is.
Great trip!
Thanks Stelios. You should share some of your crazy adventures to this site. You have some stories to tell. I hope to see you on the road sometime soon.
Let this guy loose on the Sri Lanka ride and you will get amazing pictures
Hey. Thanks Jim. There might also be quite a lot of bitching and moaning!
I was a big fan of the Long Way series with Ewan Mcgregor and Charley Boreman. What a fabulous adventure. Most of the men in my family have or have had motorbikes. This makes me want to learn to ride.
Hi Sarah. It’s a fantastic way to get about. Be it for big adventures or just a short while to spend a bit of time away from it all. Careful though, I had to pop something to the post office, half a mile down the road, it took about 2 hours because I had to go the long way round!
Everyone should try to have an experience like this once in their lives.
What a great video of a great trip
Dude. I could not have had better company on that trip and I think there is room for many more experiences! Let’s ride again soon.
Oh yes, we are. Later today.
Dave, terrific story!
Bitchin’ and moanin’ ? All part of the ride 🙂 🙂 And I loved that you had vignettes of people you met on the road.
Beautifully filmed, well told story, great production!!
BTW Middle age starts at 65 🙂
Thank you Derek.
