We are getting closer to the end of the RnT Story Contest (1st edition).
It has been an interesting journey so far and we have been enjoying the stories.
We are now counting 13 participants, 25 stories. Check them out here
Not many and probably less than what we would have expected, but this was our first run and we are happy to know that the reward will be going to someone that put trust and effort into this initiative when it started from nothing.
Personally, I wish we had the means to reward every participant, but we need to do a reality check and know our limitations in terms of budget and sponsorship.
Still, I truly hope that all participants had fun while creating their stories and remembering past adventures.
Increase your chances of winning
Back to the main topic, a low number of participants also means that the chances of winning are high for anyone who has entered the Contest.
If you have already submitted your Story, make sure you make some buzz by sharing it with your friends and on social media. It will help to increase your chances of winning.
Remember, only the Top 10 Stories will be eligible for final voting. These will be picked by summing up traffic and social media engagement data.
The clock is ticking but you can still enter the Contest.
If you haven’t sent your Story or want to send more, there is still a bit of time.
The deadline is set for the 15th of July 2022. We will accept entries that are submitted before midnight (CET).
On the 1st of August we will announce the TOP 10 stories and on the 8th of August the Grand Prize Winner.

About Sri Lanka, Grand Prize & Sponsors
You might have heard in the news. Sri Lanka is currently experiencing an economic crisis and unfortunately, some of our initial Sponsors had to back out.
A few countries, including Australia and New Zealand, are advising against traveling to Sri Lanka at the moment, though the UK has recently reverted its negative advisory so we hope that other countries will follow.
Not to worry, the Grand Prize is valid for 5 years. The first available Hidden Sri Lanka tour will be in February 2023, the next in July 2023. Hopefully, things will have improved by then.
As an extra, Extreme Bike Tours will offer a 10% discount to any Contest participant keen to join any of the offered tours, in any of the destinations. The 2023 calendar was released a few days ago (check out the website here).
